The Tiny K program evaluates for all areas of development and provides Early Intervention services for Infants/Toddlers in the home, and refers families to community resources for child care and community settings all at no cost to families living in Leavenworth County.
PARENTS AS TEACHERS- PAT
Parents as Teachers provides home visits, group connections, developmental screenings, connections to community resources, and playgroups. The program equips parents with knowledge and resources to prepare their children for a stronger start in life and greater success in school. Also serving children ages 3-5 (not yet eligible for kindergarten).
PRESCHOOL AND CHILDCARE CENTER
Childcare services for children from 1 year of age and walking through 5 years (not yet eligible for kindergarten). Play based learning environment encouraging children to wonder and create their own learning style through child-centered fun and exciting activities with opportunities designed for growing bodies and minds!
3-5 Years Old
EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIAL EDUCATION- ECSE
ECSE provides services for children who meet eligibility requirements for Special Education. Eligibility is determined through screening and evaluation. Special education services are provided within an ECSE classroom or by appointments within the center or in the community. Services could include: occupational therapy, speech/language therapy, physical therapy, vision/hearing services.
PEER MODEL PROGRAM
The peer model program includes developmental classrooms for children who pass a developmental screening and/or comprehensive evaluation performed by the ECSE team to rule out the need for special education services. Peer models provide a model for children identified with special needs by demonstrating age-appropriate skills and behaviors within a classroom environment.
Pre-K program is a preschool opportunity for children 4 & 5 years old (not yet eligible for kindergarten) to engage in classroom activities with an emphasis on kindergarten readiness. The program requires an application and eligibility determination. See the district website for application and eligibility criteria information.
