As students return our staff will be spending a lot time reviewing school policies and expectations during grade level assemblies and homeroom time. However, there are a few policies and procedures we wanted to highlight prior to the start of the year.

Wildcat Pride Behavior Expectations
At CMS we expect all our students to:
- Be Safe
- Be Respectful
- Be Responsible
- Be a Learner
These expectations apply to all school environments from the classroom, to the school bus and the athletic field. Throughout the school year we will provide various incentives to positively reinforce and recognize students who exhibit Wildcat Pride and meet behavior expectations.
Cellphones, Lockers, & Backpacks
- Cell Phones: Cell phones and personal electronic devices, including smartwatches, are not to be taken into the classroom. Students who bring their cell phone device on campus are to keep the device locked in their locker for the duration of the school day (8:05-3:10). If a student needs to contact a parent during the school day, they may come to the middle school office to do so.
- Lockers: Students are assigned a locker for storage of their school supplies and equipment. Students are also assigned a lock and combination to keep their personal belongings secure. Locks are expected to remain on the student locker at all times.
- Backpacks: Backpacks may be used to transport items to and from school only. Backpack, sling bags, book bags etc. are to be stored in the students locker and are not allowed in the classrooms.
Dress Code
All aspects of dress and personal appearance are extremely important in developing the best atmosphere for educational attainment. Students are expected to keep themselves well groomed, and neatly dressed. Students are expected to meet the following dress code expectations.
The full version of all policies can be viewed in the CMS Student Handbook. This is available digitally at cassville.k12.mo.us in the middle school section. Paper copies may be requested in the middle school office. We are looking forward to a great 2022-2023 school year.
Sincerely,
