ATTENTION LANSING: LANSING AREA MILITARY TRAINING SEPT. 22
We want to make our Lansing USD469 school community aware of military training that will be conducted tonight.
Members of the U.S. Army will conduct essential military training in the northeast section of Lansing on Fri. evening, Sept. 22. The training will consist of air and ground mobility operations and close quarter battle training. It will include the use of brief, controlled explosions used for breaching doors as well as simulated munitions.
According to an Army spokesperson, safety precautions are in place to protect participants and residents, along with planning considerations to minimize the impact to the community and private property. This training was coordinated with the appropriate local and state officials.
Residents should not attempt to disrupt or interfere with the training exercise for their own safety and the safety of those participating.
Training off of military installations offers more realism and greater training value for service members. They are able to conduct unique training by using terrain and facilities in the local area that simulate environments they may encounter when deployed.
