LMS Peer Leadership Student Baylee Baragary's Health & Wellness Tip
As part of health and wellness awareness in Lansing USD469, Peer Leadership student Baylee Baragary has taken the initiative to share valuable tips and insights throughout the school year. As part of this initiative, Baylee will be providing our community with practical tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Baylee's second submission is the following health tip, quote, and recipe:
Healthy recipe:
Strawberry Compote
Ingredients:
1 pound of fresh or frozen strawberries, hulled and chopped
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice
1/2 tablespoon of vanilla extract
Instructions:
Combine the strawberries, maple syrup, lemon juice, and vanilla in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook, stirring occasionally, for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the strawberries are soft and juicy.
Remove from the heat. The compote will thicken as it cools.
(This is just a healthy topping you can put on other food.)
Health tip:
Make sure you are going to bed at a reasonable time and getting 7-9 hours of sleep each night.
