Lansing PTA Gifts Pies for Staff at Lansing Elementary and Intermediate Schools
In honor of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, Lansing PTA generously gifted pies to every staff member at Lansing Elementary and Lansing Intermediate Schools to thank them for the work they do every day to make Lansing USD469 such a great place to work and learn. They also included alternate treats for staff with diety concerns, such as vegan and gluten-free.
"One of our school support programs is Staff appreciation - throughout the year, we treat staff to special treats/surprises like a drink and snack or meals for teachers during parent-teacher conferences," said PTA President and Elementary Aide Erin Cecil. "We also celebrate the entire staff during Appreciation Week in May."
Mrs. Cecil found the idea on Pinterest and brought it to the PTA, who generously donated the funds to purchase approximately 200 pies. During their November 16th meeting, volunteers assembled the pies with string and cards.
"We are so appreciative of our K-5 staff - they make such a big difference every day. 'Any way you slice it,' we are so thankful for them!"
For those interested in being a part of our great group of PTA volunteers, their next meeting is Thursday, December 14, at 6:30 pm in the elementary school library.
UPCOMING PTA EVENTS:
Our K-5 winter family event is on Wednesday, November 29 (5:30-7:30 @ LES). We invite all K-5 students, staff, and families to join us for a "Winter Festival" and spend the evening together enjoying festive games and crafts. We will also have a special guest - Santa will join us and be available to meet with families and take pictures. (We will have a photographer available to take photos that will be available for free download online after the event.) While this event is FREE, concessions will be available for purchase (please bring cash!), and our raffle will help raise money for our PTA programs.
We need volunteers to make this event possible - please sign-up at this link if you can lend a hand:
