Lansing Middle School Students Place in Lions International Peace Poster Contest!
Congratulations to our seventh-grade students who recently competed in the Lions International Peace Poster Contest through our local Lansing chapter. Our students represented Lansing Middle School well with the following students placing:
- 1st place winner: Hayley McLaughlin
- 2nd place winner: Addyson Agnew
- 3rd place winner: Rubi Escobar
LMS Art Teacher Ms. Emily Bucher said students were presented with their awards and artworks in a short celebration on Wednesday, November 15th. Hayley's artwork will compete statewide and potentially nationally, if she is selected in state judging.
This year's contest theme was "Dare to Dream," where students were to show how to turn their dream of a peaceful world into reality. The Lions Club promotes students expressing themselves and encouraging positive change in our world: "Creating peace posters gives children everywhere the chance to express their visions of peace and inspire the world through art and creativity."
Fantastic job to our art students and Ms. Bucher!
