Lansing Students Perform in Java Jazz Annual Benefit Concert
On Tuesday, December 5, the jazz bands at Lansing High School performed the Java Jazz annual benefit concert for the Jake Walkup Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The coffee and dessert concert went great, with lots of fun and excellent music enjoyed by all. The concert featured our two jazz ensembles at Lansing High School. Pride Jazz meets before school three days a week, and the Screamin' Lions meets during the school day.
Many students were recognized during the concert, including our three members who made the Northeast Kansas District Honor Jazz Band.
- Darian Richards - Tenor Saxophone
- Adrian Torres - Guitar
- Jonathan Duncan - Drumset alternate
The Jake Walkup Scholarships are given to multiple students in the activities Jake was involved in at Lansing, including the Screamin' Lions Jazz Ensemble.
