Lansing High School Hosts Successful Health and Wellness Fair and Art Showcase
Lansing High School hosted two successful events on Saturday, April 22nd: the first ever Health and Wellness Fair and the annual District Art Showcase.
The Health and Wellness Fair was held in the gymnasium and featured approximately 20 health vendors from the local area. Attendees had the opportunity to speak with mental health professionals, eye doctors, and other health professionals. The Lansing PTA also provided a bounce house and hula hoops for participants to get some exercise while learning about how to live a healthier lifestyle. Participants were given passports and were entered into a raffle at the conclusion of the event. Congratulations to Michael Snodgrass for winning a bag of health and wellness items provided by the vendors who attended.
In addition to the Health and Wellness Fair, the Lansing Educational Foundation hosted the annual District Art Showcase, which featured artwork from students across the district as well as local artists. The event was organized and funded by the Lansing Educational Foundation, and partnered with Kiwanis, who served pancakes from Chris Cakes.
Attendees were able to enjoy the artistic talent of our students and community, and were also able to bid on silent auction items and participate in art activities such as face painting, cookie decorating, finger painting, and photo ops. Students also played piano for mood music. All proceeds from the showcase will go directly back to the art departments in the Lansing School District.
The events were well attended and received positive feedback from participants. The Health and Wellness Fair and the District Art Showcase are just two examples of the many successful events hosted by Lansing High School and the Lansing School District. We look forward to hosting more events in the future to promote health, wellness, and the arts in our community.
