Solar Eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024
We are excited about a rare and exciting learning opportunity taking place on Monday, April 8th. A partial eclipse will occur over Lansing, Kansas.
Here are some approximate times for key moments:
- Partial Eclipse Begins: The partial eclipse will begin in Lansing, Kansas, around 12:37 PM local time (CDT).
- Maximum Eclipse: The maximum extent of the eclipse, where the largest portion of the Sun will be covered by the Moon, will occur around 1:54 PM local time (CDT).
- Partial Eclipse Ends: The partial eclipse will end at approximately 3:10 PM local time (CDT).
Since the safety of our children is our top priority, our district has purchased enough solar eclipse glasses for each student and employee. The glasses are certified to the standards recommended by NASA.
