Students Recognized for National Achievement in Personal Finance Competition
Congratulations to our Lansing High School Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) students, who were recently honored for their outstanding achievement in the National Championship round of the online Personal Finance competition. The recognition ceremony took place during CCR (College and Career Readiness) on Friday, April 26th, on the learning stairs of Lansing High School.
These students secured their spot in the National Championship by excelling in the Round 2 competition in February, where they finished in the top eight nationwide. In the subsequent April competition, they faced off against 16 other top-tier FCCLA chapters nationwide.
Despite a challenging final round that saw them narrowly miss a higher finish, the team secured an impressive 8th place overall. This achievement marks a significant advancement compared to last year when the school's team placed 10th nationally.
Ms. Shannon Long, the students' sponsor, expressed her pride in the team's accomplishments, highlighting the steady progress made each year. "I'm confident that one of our returning team members will make it to the nationals in Orlando next year," said Ms. Long. "We are getting closer every year!"
Great work, FCCLA students!
